

Steven Woolman is a South Australian designer, illustrator and author of children's novels and award-winning picture books.
The Watertower won the Childrens’ Book Council of Australia’s 1995 Picture Book of the Year award and 5 other books have been included in the annual CBCA ‘Notable Books’ list. In 1997 he won the prestigious IBBY Ena Noel Award, and the following year One Child won Picture Book of the Year in the Wilderness Society Environment Awards.
Steven
works in various media, from acrylics paints, collage and chalk and pencil,
to computer-generated imagery. Science fiction, horror and the macabre are
his favourite genres and his artwork reflects hours spent as a child watching
old movies and TV shows.
Steven's interests range from cycling to cinema, portrait-painting to Carltonware-collecting,
deep-sea diving to bio-engineering. He has a very strong feeling that he is
immortal, but we'll wait and see about that one...
